With new player Motivations and Tags in Free Agency, streamlined Scouting features, and enhanced transaction logic, Madden NFL 23 Franchise offers more authenticity and immersion.

New in Madden 23 Franchise:
Motivations: Whether it is a team's chances of making the Super Bowl, its location, or its roster makeup, new player Motivations help determine why a player decides to sign with a particular team. Examples of new Motivations include: Close to Home, Franchise QB, Super Bowl Contender, and Big Market.

Tags: From winning the MVP award to incentives for signing veteran players as mentors, new Player Tags directly impact Free Agent logic, trade logic, draft logic, and player progression. Tags like Award Winner, Mentor, and Day 1 Starter give players more personality, drive up market interest value, and can provide XP bonuses during training.

Contracts: Come to terms with new contract offer presets that help streamline the negotiation process. Player Friendly, Team Friendly, Neutral, and Very Player Friendly offer presets that each come with their own risk and reward. New Rollover Cap allows you to carry over unused cap space to the next year.

Free Agent Hub: The new Free Agency Hub is where you place offers, compete with other teams, manage Free Agent signings, view player Motivations and Tags, and more. You can also see players’ interest levels in signing with your Franchise. Now you can place an offer without advancing the week, which offers more opportunities to negotiate with Free Agent targets each week.

Scouting: With the ability to scout multiple positions at each stage as well as extra scouts to evaluate any position, you can gain important insight about more prospects faster. New Weighted Attribute Reveals uncover essential ratings first, for the position you’re scouting – like Throw Power for a QB instead of Break Tackle.

Draft Classes: A complete overhaul of Draft Classes includes the addition of more than 30 new player generators, and tuning of existing ones. Now you can find unique and fun players in every round. Discover rare generational prospects who have a high overall rating and will be guaranteed an X-Factor – a valuable addition as you develop your Franchise for long-term success.

First time in roughly 10+ years I see they actually took some time in Franchise. They still have a lot of work to do to make it on par with every other sports franchise mode, but (if the features work), this is an improvement over past years.

The new free agency looks really cool and should make the experience finally feel different for different teams in that regard. I'd love it if they added some more contract customization and some simple contract incentives in the near future!

I want a real overhaul. Customize scoreboards and broadcasters. Realistic free agency and nfl trades and incentives. I want more fun and creativity in offline franchise. That’s the only reason I play madden

This already looks a lot better and I’m happy EA is actually putting effort into franchise, even though they still need a lot to do. It’s nice to see them listening to the community a bit, and improving the game. I think it will be good this year.

This is what I’ve been waiting to see. It may not all be perfect at once, but it’s clearly been a major effort and not just brushed to the side like in the past.

More needed Franchise improvements:

• Trading: At least 5 Trade slots
• Trading: Able to add future picks for the next 5 years instead of just 2
• Compensation Picks
• In game play call limit options and cooldown should include offense / defense options. Currently you can only set for both instead of just one side of the ball.
• Any player can play all and any position in substitution / depth chart substitution
• Snapping should be a rating
• Ability to edit coach and coordinator names and their appearance / face customization, currently they have the system in the game for full customization, why only limit it to the user career mode: Face of the Franchise when you can have it for the whole game? Or even bring back face scanning app: “EA Game Face” used previously for EA sports games
• All players including and especially draft class players should be fully customizable
• Coordinators with successful offenses or defense get more opportunities for HC jobs instead of just Former Head Coaches that have been just fired
• More relocation teams (promised in M22) / and bring back expansion teams / custom teams. With at least 4 jerseys (Home, Away, Color Rush, Alternate. Why not have a team that relocates also be able to keep their former jerseys as throwbacks?
• Bring back adding funds to teams in online franchise
• Transferable franchise, which would incentive more people to bring their franchise over to the next Madden!
• Cross platform

All of this is mostly cosmetic and their priority should be gameplay but all of this will bring huge world role play immersion and would honestly make it the best Franchise mode we’ve missed in years!
