I'm from Bangalore and I attended your talk when you visited Bangalore, you even met my husband. Now, there is an issue, my husband was adopted by his elder sister and her husband and they changed his fathers name and my husband's brother in law became his father publically and on documents. Although my husband is a practising muslim and knows basic rulings of shariah, it has been fed in his mind that they are hus actual parents that he completely avoids discussion on this topic. I understand it may be disturbing for him but it needs to be discussed as there are some issues arising, firstly he is not my father in law and I need to do purdah from him. Secondly, being part of the same family unit, there are some family issues, at such times mu husband's sister expects us to treat them as biological parents should be but since she is not the biological mother, I can clearly see she doesn't treat my husband like her other children. What should I do? And what about my husband's surname? Its not only about him but also the lineage of kids that we will have...
