Nolichucky Gorge Campground and Cabins & USA Raft Adventure Resort
Показать описание
This campground is a very laid back, peaceful place, but it is not your typical campground layout. The area where I camped in my Runaway Camper, is called
"The Pines", and is a common area under pine trees, with a mulch ground cover. In that area, there are scattered poles with cluster 110 outlets. You will need a long extension cord. There are no water hook-ups in that area, and no specific sites. You just park where you want to.
The campground does have some full hook-up sites for campers, which are very close together. So close that your awning may be right next to your neighbors camper.
New sites have been added since I have been there.
I had more video, and more photographs from my stay, but they got lost on a corrupted SD card, and sadly, I was not able to retrieve them.
The road into the campground does flood during heavy rains, and becomes impassible. Keep that in mind when making plans to go there. Sections of the campground could be flooded.
Pricing is on their website, and has increased significantly in the past few years. Use your own judgement as to whether it's worth it or not.
Bathrooms were clean when I was there. They also have a snack/coffee bar, which was closed when I was there, since it was a Sunday when I arrived.
Wifi was not reliable when I was there in October 2020.
If tenting, you can camp right next to the river.
The Appalachian Trail is nearby, so it's a popular place for hikers.
Day passes are also available. It's a good place for tubing, rafting, kayaking, or just hanging out by the river. I find it to be a very peaceful place, but the camping prices are now higher than I want to pay.
USA Raft is right next to the campground. They do have dry camping there, cabins, and an outside bar.
Music: Go For Howell featuring Steven Ellis, "Come To The Water". From Epidemic Sound.
