Ringo Starr, the legendary Beatle, has always had a special connection to country music. From his early Beatles days to his latest album called “Look Up,” Ringo’s journey through the genre has been impressive—and despite being in his 80s , he's still at it, releasing fresh country music that keeps the spirit alive.
As a teenager, Ringo dreamed of moving to Texas, inspired by the music of Lightnin' Hopkins. Even with The Beatles, his love for country was clear. Beatles Songs that Ringo helped write and produce, such has “Act Naturally,” and “Don’t Pass Me By” showcased his natural affinity for country sounds.
In 1970, Ringo took a deep dive into country with his second solo album called “Beaucoups of Blues,” recorded in Nashville. Surrounded by the best country musicians of the day, including Charlie Daniels and Pete Drake—Ringo released a heartfelt tribute to the genre.
Fast forward to 2025, and Ringo is back with his new album called “Look Up.” This album brings the country sounds he’s loved for so long into the modern era—and it’s a real treat for fans. At 84, it’s incredible to see Ringo still embracing his musical roots and creating something fresh. With artists featured throughout the album like bluegrass legend Billy Strings, the instrumental talent on “Look Up” is exceptional.
