Ford held herself with such poise, despite going through life changing trauma, she speaks from truth. Senator Cruz, you had said that Dr. Ford was treated with respect. I disagree. What I heard was your party's constant anger and accusations about how this was some scam, or set-up. I do not see that as respect toward Dr. Ford. What do your opinions of the hearing being a scam have to do with the hearing? This hearing was supposed to be about Dr. Ford and Brett Kavanaugh, not your party, regardless of the time that it came forward, you still have a duty to perform your roles in serving our country. I do not feel your party has served our country during this hearing. I find it incredibly disrespectful to the American People that third party letters were accepted, that Brett Kavanaugh was allowed to behave in the manner that he did, his disregard in answering questions, his disrespecting Senators. Senator Kennedy, after seeing how your party conducted themselves at the Dr. Ford/Kavanaugh hearing, I do not believe if the hearing were to be held private that anything would have come of it. As unfortunate as it is for both Dr. Ford and Brett Kavanaugh, this situation has given the American People the opportunity to see our Senate in action, and the injustices your party have committed in not having witnesses come forward, in not wanting an FBI investigation, in being bully's at the hearing and even though Brett Kavanaugh displayed himself so irrationally, with no respect for any of the senators what wanted direct answers, it is shocking, given his behavior, that you would want him on the Supreme Court. There is no smear here, Senator Kennedy. What this is is a rush to get a man onto the Supreme Court who will protect your president, make him above the law, and hurt the American people. For this I pray everyday, and several times a day, that the evil that I have witnessed by your party be completely pulled from our White House.
