Tens of thousands of demonstrators hit the streets of Spain's Canary Islands on Saturday to demand changes to the model of mass tourism they say is overwhelming the Atlantic archipelago.

I travel abroad more than 5 months/year and tourism crowds have become a real issue in post covid years (hell, I'm feeding that frenzy myself) I for one would totally agree that, where possible, cities, islands, villages would impose a limit of just how many tourists can be on location on a given time or day. Book ahead or skip it, I'm good with that.

So many countries have this problem but when the crunch comes, it’s all about……money, livelihood……….. I remember walking through Pompeii with hundreds of tourists about. A small town designed for about 25, 000+ people. Hundred and hundreds of thousands must have stomped through it…..in some areas, it looks like it.

Limit the amount of tourists. Someone's obviously enjoying the money tourism brings to the country.
