I think why it's not really taught at school anymore is because most modern trucks and trailers either have automatic slacks or disks.

Your trailer is equipped with auto-slack adjusters. To adjust them, back up truck and trailer and pull your trailer handbrake ("chicken-leg"). Do this until it stops your trailer stops correctly while backing. Your welcome.

Yep get proper tools, , chaulk wheels, , knobs in** adj screw on slack adj arm, , snug down and the back it off quarter turn but watch ur pads to ensure good adj * will varier on adj distance from front steer/alex brakes to rear or trailer, , , after u do this few times u feel more comfortable** be safe and slow down😊

You have a lot of tools & learn to take what you need. Tools were big in our 1980's/2000's & Sometimes u had to change the tire with help of course & Happy Trails

I had to go through 9+ weeks of brake training for an apprenticeship position so Ive seen my fair share of slack adjusters. Trailer brakes look way more easy to adjust than on a bus. 😂

Automatic slacks dnt need adjustment they need to be replaced but good thinking sometimes u gotta do what u gotta do

You would think trailers today would have auto adjusting slack adjusters? The fleet I drove even in the R model I drove and RD had auto slack adjusters on them. Work great and always kept up every week or two for regular grease.

Your slack adjusters are automatic So you shouldn’t had to adjust them if the adjustment was off then you might want to get that checked out or replace the slack adjuster also you’re missing the bushing on top of the slack adjuster in the first part of the video. I work for a fleet and we got a ticket for the missing
