Ha, I was just thinking about this very HISHE last night. One movie plot peeve of mine is when the hero or protagonist has a tool or weapon that would resolve a conflict or defeat an enemy really quick yet for some unexplained or contrived reason chooses not to use it, though we all know the real reason is because the movie would be over super-fast. It just feels like poor writing that wasn't thought out very well. Either make the conflict or enemy tougher or simply don't give the hero that weapon at all.
