Oppo Find N2 Review: A Foldable With Wide Appeal

There are two types of foldable phone that matter: large-format book-style folding tablets, and compact flip-style clamshells. Or at least, that was true until Oppo came along with a flexible-display smartphone that tried to carve out a space between. The Oppo Find N2 is the sequel to last year’s standout Find N, and I've spent one holiday break over two weeks across three states seeing how this in-betweener compares to its more common competition. I'm a galaxy fold 4 owner and gotta say. The oppo was the first foldable that made me consider the format and is a strong reason the fold became my daily carry. Thanks for continuing to show the options even if most of us will have to go with what is available. For what it's worth I love my fold and have zero regrets. And switched from an LG v60 dual screen.

I kinda prefer the look of Oppo Find N2. The outer screen looks like something I really prefer - I smaller but wider screen you can use with one hand. I have big hands but even for me tall screens are not comfortable to use.

The app behavior is not excusable. It's not only on foldables but android tablets as well. The app behavior is atrocious and app compatibility with wide screen is all over the place.

Props for giving attention to good phones designed by companies outside the US and South Korea. I love my Galaxy and my wife likes her iPhone but I'm open to more options as they become more viable.

easily one of the best youtube channels worldwide. Came for a review, stayed by the charisma.

Every Android phone that can get to the Developer Options can force apps to attempt to work on split screen. It's called "Force activities to be resizeable".

The camera output was outstanding! Both pictures and videos were spectacular in my opinion !

I find it very discouraging that the US market is limited to Samsung, Apple and now Google for a "premium" flagship. Sure there's Motorola and OnePlus but they're super hit or miss in recent years.

5:48 Oppo also offers the ability to force apps into split screen. It's somewhere in developer options iirc

I love how when you list the apps that don't rotate properly, not a *single* one is one I actually have installed or ever plan to install. Awesome. 🍻

Water resistance is nice but I can't recall the last time I got a phone wet. I'd happily trade out water resistance for numerous other features, like a swappable battery. And maybe a less visible crease. As for the rotation issue, I believe there are apps that can override rotation settings on Android so you can set it per-app.

I can't think of a better way to end 2022 than hearing a reference to "OPP" "O" - well done Michael and here's to 2023!!

The N2's aspect ratio makes so much sense, I much prefer this over the extremely tall Z Fold. Wish we had this in NA

I wish the US had more foldable competition, what a shame this isn’t globally released

Really hope that Google Adopts this sort of format for the Pixel Fold, a Pixel 7 Pro Camera Setup with a wide-fold device and a good price/perf ratio (as per the Pixel Brand atm), would be stellar.

I had yet to see a Find N2 review that detailed the phone's software experience before this video, so thank you for that! The strange screen real estate utilization of Google maps and Gmail could be a deal breaker for me, but this more compact form factor is SO much better imo. Trade-offs are inevitable for now it seems

First phone in a wild that catches my eye. The Flip and fold are great phones, but the compact of the N2 is really amazing. Reminds me of people going for the 3DS XL when it came out, but just seeing that it was too big, and the N2 reminds of the DS lite, being much more compact and portable.
