Today we make a latte on the new Breville Barista Touch Impress. No pun intended, but so far I am VERY impressed by this espresso machine, and I can't wait to share my thoughts with you in the full review coming soon. Be sure to subscribe so that you don't miss out on that video!

I was waiting for the UK Sage release for a while so I ended up getting a Barista Pro and a V60 and went down the crazy rabbit hole of buying Niche and Fellow grinders and all the expensive accessories! I'm still learning how to dial in and steam milk, but it's all such a massive hassle in the mornings and this video really hits home for me!!! ...I will most likely sell my set up and still get the new Touch Impress when it does eventually launch in the UK.

As someone who frequents 3rd wave coffee shops 4-5 times a week this machine has saved me $100 in the first week I’ve had it. I used to have a fully automatic machine that never gave me the ability to do latte art which is not my only want. I love just like anyone else the layers of espresso, milk, foam while creating a beautiful frothiness on the tongue. What setting do you have the milk at? 2 and dairy?

You said it's better than Oracle (Touch). What are the advantages? Does it still have problems with consistency?

How long are you finding to grind a double basket? Mine is taking around 45seconds to get the dose and not sure if thats normal or not.

On a scale of 1 to 10/10 best of the best, how would you rate the built in grinder in terms of espresso? Also the auto frothing doesn’t give me excellent results, I can easily out do it if I go full manual on my barista touch, what do you think of the foaming ability of it in pouring latte art?

Curios what kind of pressure this machine brews at, is there any adjustability?

I bought this machine less than a month ago and it is plagued with problems. Every-time I use the auto milk function, the machine abruptly shuts off and flashes the error code ER09. According to other customers on Reddit, this is a very common problem. I also noticed that there was visible arcing around the temperature sensor for the milk.

Personally I have mixed feelings about this. Don't get me wrong, Breville makes excellent products, I had the Breville Barista Express for many years before upgrading to the Pro Version. However, I feel that the Touch Impress is little far towards an automatic experience, for me I worked as a barista for two years, even getting a certification for it. I'm not against people wanting a espresso machine that takes out all the busy work and making it simplistic, however, from I what I learned using the Barista Express, learning the process of creating espresso is key skill that yield better and cleaner results over time. Like I said I got nothing against this model, but I recommend people trying out the Express or even the Pro, if you have enough experience.

Since coffee weight is crucial to making good espresso, this grinding and tamping situation is pointless given the fact that you’ll never really know how much coffee grounds are in the portafilter, prior to tamping. The milk frothing aspect is great and very useful.

I still think the Pro is the secret weapon of the bunch 🤫
