Haunting of the Mary Celeste (2020) Exclusive Official Trailer HD

Vertical Entertainment hits the seas with the supernatural thriller Haunting of the Mary Celeste, which is based on a true story and remains one of the sea’s great, unsolved mysteries. 

In the film, "Emily Swallow (“Mandalorian,” “Supernatural”) stars as Rachel, a concerned researcher whose team who has set out to sea to prove that the disappearance of a family and crew from a merchant ship was for reasons having to do with the supernatural. Her theory that those on the Mary Celeste vanished into a “rift” between dimensions proves true as the boat breaks down and her crew begins to vanish one by one."

Directed by Shana Betz (Free Ride), Haunting of the Mary Celeste arrives on VOD platforms October 23rd. 

Bloody Disgusting has an exclusive look at the trailer and art (reminiscent of the poster for Dark Castle's Ghost Ship) for the film based on the true story of The Mary Celeste, an American merchant brigantine discovered adrift and deserted in the Atlantic Ocean off the Azores Islands on December 4, 1872. Explains the press release, "She was found in disheveled condition… with her lifeboat missing and the last entry in the log dated ten days earlier. Her cargo was intact and while the captain and crew's personal belongings were totally undisturbed, none of those who had been on board were ever seen or heard from again."

Haunting of the Mary Celeste was written by David Ross (The Woods, The Babysitters) and produced by Norman Dreyfuss, Brian Dreyfuss and Justin Ambrosino. The Executive Producers are Eric Brodeur and Jerome Olivier.

When I saw the name " Mary celsete" and the cover photo with a legendary ship, I thought the movie filmed inside of a ship like that and imagined of old times like" pirates of the Caribbean "

Well...I watched this movie all the way through. I really did. I kept wanting to stop, but I just couldn't. I just had to see if it could POSSIBLY get any worse as it went on.
It did not disappoint.
Emily Swallow (lead actress) should have changed her name after this film was released. (If that really IS her last name)
I think her acting in this film could be described in one word.. Downhill.
I also discovered something totally new to me, in understanding the DVD "direct to rental" sales, business.
This movie..HAD to be made, to simply supply a place for advertisements to be shown !!
The Promoters HAD to have already known, that it wasnt going to make any money from sales..so they at least had a guarantee from ads. They didn't spend much, making it.. THAT'S a given..
The movie DID have one satisfying moment though.
The ending.. You know?
The part where the movie is over. Yep.. Best part of the whole flick.
I would give it a rating of....

I just watched this movie, very disappointed, I give 2/10
It’s a very low budget movie and short
But they take the name of the legendary Mary Celeste as a tittle it’s a wast,
If it was a good production, good acting,
More chill events, scary scene it would be amazing
I would not rate it as a horror movie
It’s just a movie with whispering and the light off
For me it’s bad .

This movie looks like it was filmed around Seattle Washington? the Mary Celeste discovered adrift and deserted in the Atlantic Ocean off the Azores Islands on December 4, 1872?? so.. anyone see a problem here? the premise of the movie is if you go to the spot where they found it, the scientific reading should be .. spooky??? but they are filming it off the Pacific Coast??

I saw High Octane at the start. It already alarmed me because it's hard to rely on them for quality productions, be it horror, sci-fi or action etc. I don't know, out of a 100, only 1 of their movies would be worthy of watching. The taste of the man/woman behind High Octane is very peculiar. The person is like a whale shark which opens it's mouth. A lot of "unwanted" objects enter. Well, what comes out of (produced) its ehem, ehem, is usually... you know what.

You could ask me, "Who told you to watch, if you don't like us?". Well unfortunately, it's my job to watch it because I work under subtitling and edits for a local broadcasting channel. Poor me.

Haunting of the Mary Celeste (S. Betz 2020) : malheureusement rien n'est crédible dans cette production au rabais! A commencer par une pseudo équipe de scientifiques débutants puis, l'enchaînement des événements et des choix toujours plus grotesques. Mal réalisé, sans rythme et mal interprété, cette histoire ne prend jamais : un vrai naufrage!
