The Multicultural Graduation Ceremonies are part of the official Georgetown University commencement schedule and are a way to bring students of color together for a final ceremony before graduation. In 2013, the Office of the Provost began financially supporting the graduation ceremonies and officially charged the Center for Multicultural Equity & Access (CMEA) with coordinating three separate ceremonies: Harambee, Despedida, and Asian Heritage. This year will mark the first year of rebranding our Asian Heritage ceremony to the Pan-Asian & Pacific Islander Ceremony. This year, we translate this event virtually. The event will feature student reflections, alumni speakers, and messages from other staff who share this commitment to celebrating difference.
