This guy is the best reporter. Instead id just reporting and watching people in danger he actually helps by calling 911 and such. He did the same in Cuba. He really is a good role model.

Breaks my heart to see the place where I called home once upon a time ago go through this. People think before you comment. People that lived on Writesville beach had to leave. People that live in Wilmington had an option to leave. Even tho writesville beach is located in Wilmington but it's more of an island because you have to drive on the bridge to get to the beach. All of the people that live on Writesville beach are the ones who had to leave. So plz know what your talking about before saying anything. I have friends that live there.

I remember the evacuation and the weather very vividly. In addition to driving on I-40 towards Raleigh to shelter with distant family, I had to drive over 70 miles of unfamiliar country highway because I-40 hit a point where traffic was reported impassible for almost 3 hours had I stayed on it. And when I finally came back, I saw trees stained with swamp water and piles of waste at nearly every house and business I passed. Thank God for thorough and deliberate rescue coordination.

60, 000 people is half of Wilmington's population. Wilmington is higher ground than all of its surroundings.

All roads impassable. That is nuts. Literally isolated people in 2018. Guess they will evacuate next time.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if Wilmington was in the mandatory evacuation zone?

Why not establish several depot, just ouside Wilmington and use helicopters to fly the food in to several locations, until the wayers recides?

Imagine how much food would be available if they didn't have to feed the reporters.
