That is another period of time that I cant imagine what it was like to exist in... White or Black, such confusion...

Could be wrong but it seems to me the author is trying to tie pre-millennial support to support of slavery or at least a neutral view of slavery in an attempt to smear pre-millenialists; Brooks couldn't have came to understand pre-millenialism simply by reading the scriptures. There had to be other motives involved.

Slavery biblically has the idea of being bought by a Master. We are born into sin if not saved we are slaves of sin, in the market place of sin Christ has paid our debt to set us free from sin and its consequences. The freedom here of a slave of sin to becoming a slave of righteousness is freedom of choice as who Who you desire your Master to be. We as the body of Christ and Israel have been purchased by the precious blood of the Lamb of God. God doesn't force this transition from slave of sin to slave of righteousness.
