December 3rd, 1974 13:18 (1:18pm)
U.S. Naval Prison Facility, Cuba
Time 15:17.134
Enemy combat alerts 0
Kills 0 (Ignoring a rat I accidentally exterminated while CQC kicking a target awake)
Prisoners rescued 2
Helicopters lost 0
Retries 0 (Single segment)
No reflex
Both targets recovered
Score 61246
The mission takes place around a week, tops, after Peace Walker's final ending, making this Big Boss's first look into Camp Omega, shortly after Paz's fall into the ocean.
After finding out from the targets that Camp Omega had recently been converted into some sort of black site MSF sends in an intelligence operative that required rescue approximately 4 days later, something you'll see in the next mission.
All of this said, "pseudo-historical" means the level of canonicity is ambiguous.
The main issue I had with this run was being choked for tranquilizer ammo. The sole reason I avoid using them on anyone but target B and his guards at first, as well as the sheer amount of hold ups, is because of this. I never knew how many I would end up using on the guard tower from the airfield.
Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a scoreboard for overall performance in a level, although this is more to show friends how well the level can be played for the most part. Better runs of this level exist in every way possible, for all intents and purposes.
Unfortunately, my usual recording software (Dxtory) doesn't cooperate with Ground Zeroes in the least. This means I had to use Fraps, which would record in 30 fps while displaying at 60. When I tried making it record at 60 fps, I had loads of hangs and drops in fps, ironically.
Recorded on all high settings, not maximum, so don't see this as a tech demo in the least.
Also, thanks for the thumbnail from my anonymous pal who I continue to share my awful fetishes with to this day. To be fair, though, that last thumbnail concept was worse than anything I have to offer.
