The Northern Territory has scrapped an ambitious target to produce 50 per cent of its electricity from renewables by 2030.

The Country Liberal Party announced they will be scraping the previous Labor government’s plan on Thursday.

Northern Territory Deputy Chief Minister Gerard Maley told the press bringing renewables up to 50 per cent would cost an estimated $5 billion.

It's time to cap renewables and start rolling back the whole plan.

There is no such thing as Green Energy, there is only ENERGY.

These bastards need to be made to pay back all the taxpayer money they have wasted on this BS. Sell their assets, make them take a massive pay cut. Whatever. It is time political parties were made to live with the consequences of their INCOMPETENCE.

Bowen will never reveal the true cost of renewables. He is so far down the rabbit hole he now believes his own lies. $56, 000 for every person in the Territory, and to think this will all need replacing in less than 25 years at a further cost. Chris Bowen needs to stand in a court and tell all Australians the real cost of renewables, the purchasing cost, the installation cost, the environmental cost, the end of life cost, the disposable and landfill cost, the operational cost, the secret dividends cost, the compensation to farmers cost, the compensation for idle wind turbines cost, the maintenance cost, the refurbishment cost, the 28, 000 kms of new transmission lines cost, the 20, 000 kms of new access roads cost, the continual weed spraying cost, the destruction of flora and fauna cost, . The true cost of this madness will be in the vicinity of $9 Billion and an eyesore for decades. Australia needs Nuclear power to move forward into the next century not ill informed Jurassic style ideology that Chris Bowen displays. Solar and wind is an outdated technology that Australia cannot afford.

Scrapping renewables is the only way to bring the cost of power down.

Chris Bowen needs to be fired, lose his pension and benefits and locked up for this failure.. Europe tried green energy and it failed back in the early 2000s ..why didn't they pay attention to that
