My dad lived to be 83. His parents died in their early sixties. My dad painted every day, and played tennis until he was 82, and golf until the end. I credit his painting. For him it was meditative.

During COVID my 90 year old grandma stayed with us and she tried watercolors. She had never had the opportunity to just sit and create art before. It’s a cherished memory that I get to keep.

So true!
My best days were when I shut out the world around me and got creative in whichever way I was inspired to at the time

Journaling does same for me. As I describe something I worry about I find that I am actually not worrying, I'm present. Drawing takes much longer to get into the zone.

Thanks, Mr. Gregory. I've felt for a long time that doing a drawing or painting was meditative.

Tudo verdade!!!
Assim eu tivesse tempo para fazer as coisas que me prendem no presente, ler, escrever, cozinhar...
Tempo, o bem de que só os ricos podem usufruir.

There's also nothing that can anchor you in the present like pain. 🤷🏼‍♀️
