Spyro Reignited: INFINITE FLIGHT GLITCH!!! + Guide

So it turns out there is an Infinite flight glitch discovered in Spyro Reignited Trilogy! Let's check it out!

This glitch only makes me wish that Toys for Bob natively added a "free flight" mode for who 100% all three games.
Yeah, I'm aware that would "break the magic" and make people see stuff they aren't supposed to, but still... in the end, after you're done, who cares: you just want to mess around.

UPDATE: I tried to obtain this glitch, and I came to the conclusion that, for me, it's simply impossible. The reason is that, apparently, the level doesn't appear to load fast enough and, by the time the cutscene ends, I can't even select "Retry" because it starts loading faster than the appearance of the cursor, leaving me stuck in a "The Adventure Continues..." screen with the "X Select" prompt at the bottom.

Sooo yah, enjoy it for me too, peeps. 'cuz I can't.

That's an Amazing Glitch! Now we can find things that weren't previously known about.

Did the glitch myself on PS4, so I have no clue how accurate any of this is for other versions. This glitch also gave me infinite supercharge, unsurprisingly. I personally found the timing easily for this glitch. Sparx is invisible and there is a timer in the corner, since the game thinks you are in the speedway. But you don't die in one hit, sparx is still there, just invisible. You can still kill fodder and he will eat butterflies, you just can't see him. If you have the PS4 version, you can tell his color with the remote. Here are my other findings:

Taking damage: no effect

Whirlwinds: made me lose my superflight and supercharge. I just glided, back to normal. Leaving the level or dying fixes it.

Going through level portals: actually FIXED my lost superflight from using a whirlwind. Did not lose my abilities at all.

Entering a mini-cutscene: like any character talks to you, anything pauses gameplay to show you anything (like buttons for water in aquaria towers, freeing satyrs in fracture hills, etc...) Makes you lose superfly until you leave the level or die

Spring powerup: lost superflight but not supercharge. Leaving the level fixed it, and so did dying.

Superflame powerup: no effect

Superflight powerup: once it wears off, you lose your infinite superflight until you leave the level or die

Supercharge powerup: no effect

Superflight/flame powerup (metropolis): same as with superflight portal, once it wears off, you lose infinite superflight until you leave the level or die

Dying: nothing. Resets superflight in a level if you lost it, same as leaving and re-entering the level would reset jt

Minigame portals (spyro 3): you lose your superflight and supercharge until you leave the level. Not just minigame, the entire level.

Different character and back (spyro 3, like shelia or agent 9): spyro does a HORRIBLE tornado glitch spin in the mini-cutscene when it switches to the different character. Leaving the level and switching back to spyro, you get superflight ans charge back.

Enter than leaving a speedway: in spyro 3 (the one I tested speedway in) he does same horrible tornado spin as switch characters, when he sits there to talk to sparx. I think it happens because he is trying to fly with superflight, but has nowhere to go, instead of standing there in idle like he is meant to. Leaving the speedway softlocks you, with canyon speedway enemies visible but no map and nothing you can do.

Closing the game: as expected, closing and re-opening the game resets it and you lose it permanently.

No one is gonna see this but the easiest way to get past the first step (Ripto method) is instead of backing up and moving forward, just go between the two paintings and then jump-dash. The large jump will make it so that as you frantically mash the pause and unpause button, you'll be able to catch it right at the correct frame more easily, because you're only needing to focus on pausing and unpausing fast enough, not having to worry about moving forward at the exact right spot, the momentum will get you to the first frame by itself. Just need to pause fast enough.

I've been able to get to that step and the second step (the hardest one which is getting into the speedway portal blind) pretty easily after days of practice on and off the past few years, but the barrier I have is that my game does not load fast enough at all to be able to die-and-retry in the speedway before the cutscene ends, that being the third step. My game can never finish loading into the speedway before the cutscene is over so I can only manage to softlock my game on the "The Adventure Continues" page.

I love these kinds of glitches - especially the ones with multiple steps. It feels like you're finding a hidden secret and stepping outside the bounds of what you're supposed to be doing.

huge Tip: make sure you have canyon speed way done before doing this glitch or it will count down and you will run out of time.. and no you can't use this glitch to cheat at the trolly challenge as it will not let you pick up the gears without being on the trolly

What I find helps:

Spam up and start when entering Riptos Arena. Its a little tedius but if you spam fast enough you're guranteed to hit the pause button as the cutscene is loading. You'll know you've got it when you hit pause and the option to exit level appears.

My second tip, once the cutscene loads, after about 10 seconds, you should hear the Winter Tundra hub music as well as the cutscene. When you press up and enter the portal, you should hear whistling wind, like when entering a level etc. Use the music as a guide.

Also, unlike in BetaMs and CGEd video, you don't need to skip the cutscene. At least I didn't need to. You can just hit retry when the cutscene ends.

ALSO ALSO VERY IMPORTANT! Don't exit the level, use the atlas to warp to another level or press quit game to try the glitch on Spyro 1 or 3 (the glitch continues until you close spyro/power off your console). Quitting will softlock the game xD

The glitch does still seem to work. If you're on ps5(faster loading times I presume) do not spam x to retry on the speedway canyon part. Only retry as soon as you see the cutscene about to end and it should work

My strategy is to center the camera as soon as i hear spyro land and start walking backwards into the portal.
