Epic, inspiring story. Memories like that are beyond rare and Neil must be so happy to have it. Shows what a great man Carl was and the potential of just believing in someone.

Carls Sagan such a wonderful human, just see the humility of Neil, in every possible opportunity he never fails to express his gratitude what Carls has done for him as a kid
We all wish we had a chance like that when we were young, ,

One of my fondest memories was that fall in 1980 when I was 9 years old Cosmos came on PBS on. If memory serves it was on Sunday nights for 12 weeks or something like that. My dad and I would watch it together, him in the rocking chair and me lying on the floor in the back corner of our old living room on a smaller color tv. My 2 older brothers and my older and younger sister had no interest in watching it. By then I guess my older brothers were on to music and part time jobs and stuff like that. My dad always had books about astronomy, space exploration, nasa, airplanes, flight, and anything related to that around the house. He always had a great interest in NASA and space/aircraft flight and always exposed us kids to it. Those autumn Sunday evenings in 1980 I think about often and I really think was the beginning of my love of astronomy and scientific thinking.

Carl Sagan is the king of the nerds.

He went to university at 16 years old.

I would have been so honored to have met Dr. Carl Sagan. His Cosmos TV series taught me how to evaluate my view of the world and the universe.

The few decades most of us spend with the spark of consciousness, we bum around and make some basic ends met. People like Carl and Neil are those who dare to ask the hard questions, and they maximize those brief few decades. My utmost respect, gentlemen.

I was blessed to see the Cosmos documentaries while studying physics. Surprisingly, my PhD is in pure math😅.

This clip should have at least a billion views,
Well,
The garbage TV has convinced people that being stupid and ignorant is the way to go!
For now at least we as humans are failing ourselves in a massive way!

Why does the book and pages look almost new if it was that old the spin would be loose cause you can’t tell me a 17 year old wouldn’t have opened it and read it multiple times? Even the glue they used back then would dry out bad and cause pages to fall out... I would know cause I have a bunch of books comics etc from my dad and they are all even in good condition have something with them....
