Inaugural visit of Air Mauritius Airbus A330-900 NEO to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai.

With this commercial flight, Mumbai Airport becomes the first airport in India to operate this latest variant of Airbus A330.

The Inaugural flight was operated on 22nd April, 2019 by 3B-NBU, 2 months old airframe, delivered to Air Mauritius just 4 days prior to this flight (18th April, 2019).

The aircraft was ferried to London Heathrow (LHR) from Toulouse Airport (TLS) (Airbus' Factory) and operated its first commercial flight London LHR to Port Louis, Mauritius (MRU).

The Airbus A330neo ("NEO" for "New Engine Option") is a wide-body jet airliner developed by Airbus from the Airbus A330 (now A330CEO – "Current Engine Option").
.
A new version with modern engines comparable to those developed for the Boeing 787 was called for by owners of the current A330. It was launched on 14 July 2014 at the Farnborough Airshow, promising 14% better fuel economy per seat.

It is powered by Rolls-Royce's latest RR Trent 7000 engines. It weighs 6,445 kg, costs US $37.9M and produces 72,834 lbf of thrust each.

Airbus A330 NEO comes in two versions. Both are based on the A330-200 and -300: the -800 has a range of 8,150 nmi (15,090 km) with 257 passengers while the -900 covers 7,200 nmi (13,330 km) with 287 passengers.

Airbus A330-900 NEO made its maiden flight on 19 October 2017 and was first delivered to TAP Air Portugal on 26 November.
.
The -800 made its first flight on 6 November 2018, aiming for type certification in mid-2019 and first delivery in the first half of 2020. Airbus A330neo also features newly designed winglets and Airbus A350 XWB like cockpit window mask.

As of April 2019, 230 Airbus A330-900NEOs are on order and 6 are delivered.

With this flight, Air Mauritius has operated all of its wide body aircraft (Airbus A330, Airbus A340-300, Airbus A350 XWB and Airbus A330neo) on Port Louis (MRU) - Mumbai (BOM) MK748 / MK749 route.

Am from mauritius. And i was in this inaugural flight from mauritius to mumbai. Thanks 4 this shot. Lucky 2 b part of this. I remember two guys were filming this. My seat was the exit seats behind z wings. Thnks a lot.
