C-62 Special: The Porsche Koenig C62

Показать описание
What’s it like to tame a Porsche 962 on public roads? Gen Shibayama’s Koenig 962 is a former Group C race car that bent the rulebook on the track and then bent it again to wear plates. Built by Kremer. Reborn by Koenig. It is loud, violent, and barely civilized. This is not a tribute or a replica. It is the real thing, with just enough added to fool the government into letting it loose. A Le Mans legend doing something it was never supposed to do. Go for a drive.

What an incredible car, and such a knowledgeable owner. SO glad there's people like this who are willing to take machines like this out in public for the rest of us to enjoy. Much respect.

This gentleman is what I’d call the perfect neighbor. Classy yet subdued, focused, passionate and knowledgeable about his hobby…with exquisite taste in automobiles. Thank you for a “taste” of an exceptional car.

Fantastic! Never have I seen someone concentrate so intensely when driving a car! He admits it's trying to kill him, so doubles down.. Kudos to him

Love seeing this on Angeles Crest Highway. And thank you to Gen for not keeping it hidden away (I was in love with his Terracotta 911.) With stories like this, Petrolicious getting back to its best!

Just laughed. Totalled my 930 T, (and lived to tell the tale). Then went for a 962. You're a one of man! Surely you can't be married. Love from Africa.

It looks absolutely gorgeous and I love that the owner is driving it. There is nothing worse than cars that were made to be driven and are forced to sit in a museum or even rot somewhere.

'Had to have it' what a champion, big respect to Mr. Shibayama

Love how the owner didn't run away scared but learned to drive and then tackled a even scarier car with a tuned motor of the car he crashed in, insane and epic.

It's a vibe whenever an owner says, "This car certainly will kill you if you make a mistake..."

I remember seeing this car for sale not that long ago. So glad to see it here. I remember when it was new. Very cool. Thank you.

Having to be in "fight mode" for a drive is something else! 😂
They seem like a great match though.

Just from the intense focus concentration of this guy driving that beast makes me appreciate the genius of legendary race car
drivers like Derek Bell and Jacky Ickx. They were driving 956 and 962 derivatives topping 240mph on the Mulsanne regularly over 24hrs in the 1980s

Super cool that the owner takes care of and drives the car. Thanks for the story!

A group of guys that I have the privilege of driving with Have the privilege of having Gen Join us from time to time.
Whichever of the many cars he owns he always drives serious pace and class, Regardless of which car he brings.
The fact that he’s sitting up in this car speaks volumes to me because of what he can do in a short wheelbase 911 humbles me.
He clearly learned a lot from his 930 experience……

Fantastic - this is what cars are about. Owning, appreciating and DRIVING the thing. A race car converted to street use and actually being driven is infinitely more impressive than the supercars you see with delivery miles, or < 2000 miles over 20 years.

Incredible. What a rad owner. And such a beautiful tribute to LA.

Thank you so much for making this movie Petrolicious, and thanks so much to the owner for sharing his exceptionally beautiful racecar with other car enthusiasts who will probably never have the pleasure of ever seeing one in real life. This is YouTube at its best.

Awesome car - never knew this model existed. Owner is a well spoken (especially as it's his 2nd language) enthusiastic gent too. 🎉
