I use my $25/month visible wireless as my hotspot for my desktop PC. I have 2 wifi cards to use my PC as a wifi hotspot for more devices. I have not had any problems. You are right about how it all depends on your location. Visible and Verizon work great in our area.

I was with Verizon before switching. I dropped more calls & < data speeds. Such is life.

Is this visible going to continue to support 3G? MY Moto G4 phone is no good on ATT system in 2022, and I'm wondering if its junk or someone will still support 3G

Visible has become a first 3 month were fine - 5 to 10 meg internet. Then all of a sudden my speeds dropped to 1/2 a meg. I spent days on the phone with their crummy customer service. Finally got to the upper level CS and they said it was the crap! My sister lives 25 yards to the left of my house and has Verizon. She get 60 meg internet speeds. Visible is throttling no matter what they say! I had great service for three months so the tower is not the are lying! Do not trust Visible! They're doing the same thing Verizon used to do to me with my base package. They are throttling! You can call it deprioritizing if you be pissed either way!

Probably going to switch out of Visible this month. I’ve had Visible since April 2020. For the most part they work but I’ve had a variety of problems that worry me.

1. I’ve had a problem on and off where my phone either displays “no service” or the bars are grayed out but LTE is still present. This allows me to use data but it keeps texts and calls from going through. This is a rare problem but it tells me that Visible has some issues/glitches that haven’t been worked out.

2. Ping times are extremely high making the hotspot less than ideal for gaming. This is a problem for me since the primary reason I switched to Visible was to hotspot my Xbox since my home WiFi is typically slower than cellular.

3. This is the big one. Congestion. Speeds are unreliable and frequently slow down. Most of the time it’s usable but it seems like at least once a day speeds drop to less than 1Mbps. The other day I was in a crowded area and my speeds dropped to 0.01. I couldn’t load anything.

What I like: I had no issues porting or using my unlocked iPhone XR. $25/month for unlimited hotspot is a really good deal. The 5Mbps hotspot speed cap is still faster than my home WiFi. Didn’t notice any device limits while using hotspot. Having monthly plans vs 30 day plans is a nice bonus. Since my bill always lands on the same day of the month. Didn’t really need unlimited data but the price was cheaper than what I was paying for a cap. I frequently just ignore connecting to WiFi and I blow through about 30GBs a month.

Why I’m planning on leaving? I don’t trust that my service will always be able to work. The service could randomly drop right before an important call or the data could become unusable while using Google Maps. I’m also not going to consider switching to any deprioritized Verizon MVNOS or prepaid plans in the future.
