Timelapse: Polaris

Polaris is the brightest star in the constellation Ursa Minor. It is estimated to be roughly 430 light years from Earth. The name derives from the latin stella polaris, meaning pole star.

This project shows the rotation of the stars around Polaris, from Earths perspective, in Ashburn, Missouri in the heart of the United States. The Mississippi River runs through a Missouri state park called Dupont Conservation Area. It was here that I set up camp with my Canon 5D Mark IV pointed to the heavens.
