I want the power to set my velocity relative to any object of my choosing at will. So say I look at a section of the ground, I would be able to set my velocity relative to that piece of ground in whatever direction I choose. Essentially I could use it like I am clicking and dragging across Google maps. This could also mean that, assuming I were to procure a body or suit or something that was able to protect me from it, and I had a telescope, I could slingshot myself into the stars at near light speeds simply by setting my velocity relative to celestial bodies instead of earth. You could call this flight with extra steps, I choose to think of it as real life movement mechanics.

I have another idea. What about walking anyWHEN, with these restrictions; it functions by stepping up to go forward (to account for potential height differences) and down to go back (for the same reason) it doesn't work on; stairs, planes, cars, or ladders. Basically, anything that may not be there in the future or past. You can decide whether houses/buildings qualify, or if it's funnier to have the guy account for that, cause he for sure could step up in a building and end up falling to his death because it was demoed. The consequences are obvious; you don't know what will be where when you step. I already talked about the building, but even in a forest, step into the trunk of a tree, step in front of bombs in an unknown future war. Nowhere, and nowhen would be safe to go reliably.
