I saw this movie when it first came out in 1952. I was a kid in then. I considered it the first adult western movie. It's a great movie!

@ClassicDamsel Oh, you must see it! It is just a classic western with a great cast! The theme song was actually sung by Tex Ritter (John Ritters father) in the movie. I just love the way Duane Eddy does it. Thanks so much for stoppin' by to watch and comment!

A classic western with a cast of many well known performers. The version of "High Noon", by Duane Eddy is superb. It's very emotive, he played so wonderfully on it. It's a perfect tune for his personal style, and is my favorite instrumental version. It's great tune, a great arrangement,  that Duane with the orchestra present fabulously even sans lyrics. The movie is a must see, and this recording is a must hear!

@sorrowfulflower Yes, she surely had a classic beauty and the acting talent to go with it and what can you say about Gary Cooper. Just a wonderful movie with a wonderful cast, I think. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

@azw596 You are very welcome! I love Connies version too but it is posted several times. I thought Duane Eddys version added that "Bonanza" kind of feeling to it. The movie is one of my all time favorite westerns, for sure. Thanks so much for watching!

The theme music of "The Third Man" and this one are superb. One can club these two compositions with the theme from "Zorba The Greek".

Leroy Van Cleef in an early part, apparently started as a dancer on stage in 'West Side Story'!
'Nice' Sheb Wooley ('Pete Thornton', trail scout in "Rawhide", along with some other fellow!).
And Robert J Wilkie ('Magnificent Seven', the one that gets knifed by James Coburn).

Excellent video! I have yet to see High Noon (it's on my list!), but this song certainly makes me want to see it more.
