one of joey's most introspective interviews...always honest, and straight forward. you can see the expression on his face that jani's final years, the reunion, and his death, still strike him. while i'm happy that they have found a way to tour with robert mason, and that provides a quality income stream for him, i wish they could find a singer who was a little less bluesy, and more in line with how warrant sounded.

Jani was the most talented songwriter from the 80s

Being through a few era's of music now I realize what a blessing it was being a youth in the 80's. Times have changed where at that time of life it seemed like time stood still. Sex, drugs and rock n roll were how we lived, always imagining we were the next up and coming stars. I wonder if these rocks stars have any idea the impression that they had on us back then. Im scared today for these legends as it seems the past is catching up with them. Whether its addiction issues, a hard lifestyle, trouble with the law, death or just simply the party days coming and biting them in the ass in ways of lawsuits.

I for one would have wished to meet these individuals back in the day to say thank you. But as it turns out most today are out of touch with reality and support issues that back then they would have said "fuck you' so thats a little disappointing.

Either way it did shape our lives and in the end it was a time I dont think I would live again....I got real lucky and probably should have been dead a few times over.

So any 80's rockers who may read this, thanks for the good times, I got laid more times that I can remember listening to wicked hits and these memories, I will take to my graves.

I do wanna say that the quality of rhythm guitar and lead guitar that actually could be produced by Eric Turner and Joey Allen was actually incredibly talented and incredible as well. I could never fathom some other guy coming in there to do their parts and definitely Joey and Ericput that shit together pretty quick. The band in total is totally amazing and the way that they put together their tunes are high-quality all the way through and through and that includes Eric and Stephen and Joey and without a doubt Jerry Dixon, but one thing remains that people in this world should know 100% Jeanie Lane put the time in behind the scenes that we all don’t know about on how to produce songs, write songs and come up with the lyrics that are just fucking phenomenal. There are not many fucking people that can do that. It seems almost modernized compared to the Beatles and all that kind of shit I have been and always will be blown away by the songwriting talent of genuine Lane and it is really really, really, really a fucking shame that for some reason he died so early to me he’s better than Kurt Cobain, Foo Fighters Metallica, and a lot of stuff just not recognized for that deep Salt water thing you had going on inside

“Cherry Pie” is one of the great rock anthems of all time. Right up there with “Wang Dang Sweet Poon Tang” by Ted Nugent.

I’m a little disappointed with Joey‘s indirect answer because of the fact that when I hear some of these rare demos and things like that that I’ve already heard a lot before, but some new stuff pops up and for example, southern comfort and stuck in a hole And can’t help myself and the original demo of heaven and the fact that for some reason it was leaked out that these guys and I heard this many many years ago that Warren didn’t do all their own stuff and now I hear that this guy Mike something did some of their guitar stuff, but Jeannie was sitting there writing all the stuff. It’s just incredible All the way to Jabberwocky. The guy was incredibly talented to the fact that where I have to turn it off sometimes it’s just too good. Robert Mason is a cool guy. I saw him live and I totally respect him but it’s not like Jeannie Lane right the song for warrant And what they did back then also, I have to give kudos to the drummer who just wall up that shit out along with the bass player and how good warrant was with Jeannie they just really put those songs together and that is something that you do not see with Robert Mason not even the same at all. That’s all I have to say.

Seriously I’m pretty sure this guy made some crappy comments when Jani died calling him that guy. This dude left the band for a long time and then came back and he could’ve been gone cause he wasn’t missed Jani is missed.

Jani was the talent in the band. Nobody had to come in for Jani and sing like Mike Hammer did on first two albums.

I call b s Joey… oh we miss him, b s. you guys were all partiers and yes he was beyond on his addiction but for you guys to totally not even go to his funeral or memorials or even say anything halfway respectful until now.. you didnt and dont deserve his songs/words. You lost many fans over this issue. Not that you care, Ive personally walked out on your sets at shows u r part of lineup on. Who knows if only 1 of you couldve just tried, put up boundaries hell yes, but been there for him, things mightve been different. Just my opinion as a fan of Janis.
