Metasploit: Not connecting to database error fix 2019

How to fix Metasploit and armitage failed to connect to the database error.

Commands used in this video:
port = 5432 # (change requires restart)

If you dont see 5432 as the port, just change it. Mine was set to 5433, if yours is 5433 you can just run this sed line to update:

After that, restart the postgresql service and re-initialize the metasploit db
service postgresql restart

hey i'm wondering if you could help me out. My armitage icon won't work. When I click it, nothing happens. I didn't do anything since I updated Kali a couple weeks ago. It seems that after I updated kali, that's when the armitage icon didn't work. i found a work around, by going into
/etc/init.d/postgresql start, then bash armitage. That seems to work, but I don't want to keep doing this. I just want the icon to work. Would you know how to fix this?

thanks man, finally got metasploit to work. I wasn't able to get output for the 'ss - lntp | grep post' command but I found that this command was not needed.

Hi! do you know why when I try to run an exploit on parrot os the next issue appears?

I've tried everything, disable my firewall on my VM, and nothing, hahaha hope you can help me.

just type as normal user in an terminal msfdb reinit and follow the instructions
