When everything inside your head tells you "I'm tired, I don't want to today, I'll continue tomorrow etc.". DO IT THIS INSTANT. Break that lazy part of yourself, over and over again and reforge the scraps into a machine of productivity and discipline. It was tough for me, but whenever I finish what I need to do AND cultivate my hobbies for the day, I feel rewarded in a way, YouTube videos and all that other instant-gratification bullshit could never make me feel. My self-loathing evaporated into near nothingness and I have a peace of mind, I never knew I could achieve.

With working out, I've found it's easier if you can get it out of the way sooner, rather than later and buy yourself more time. After work, I used to take walks to relax, thinking I'd be able to work out later, but those walks still took some energy. Even though it was just a little bit, it was enough to feel like I'd done 'enough' for the day once I got home, and I wouldn't feel up to it.

To correct this, I started hurrying home to get it done earlier rather than later, and taking walks later in the evening, which is much more pleasant anyway. Less heat- fewer people. I find that the closer I get to running out of time for the evening, the less I feel like I have time for something 'now', so I have to bump things forward and do them sooner to get around that perception.

Honestly, I try hard to be consistent on studying, doing a composition(a music/ a transcription/ a story), preparing the symptoms list when going to meet the psychiatrist.

I force myself to keep going, but with music or hear a manga recap or (audiobooks), it's a way to make me feel more comfortable to work, and the break I take is like between 1 to 3 minutes before I continue to work. If I don't feel like doing it, at least I make myself do the half and the other half for the next day

That felt worse than a face slap. And way worse than being called out. I am one of those who can never stick to a goal well. Same with planning for one. Not my thing. Hopefully I can get some help with it soon.

My understanding on motivation is that it’s a type of energy:

You wake up, you go from a state of regaining energy to spending it, be it work, school, being social, it all spends it according to your character, if school is a struggle, energy is consumed more than say being on your phone, which can be like going on an energy-saving mode as you relax and do whatever pleases you, be it videos, games, or just social media as a whole.

Take kids for example, this system is natural for them as they 'spend' it on the things they have to do and are told to do they don’t like, vs when they do whatever they like without reservation most of the time.

This isn’t a say all be all, of course, but, in this manner, it’s how I learn to look at my struggle of doing what I want and need to so I can better manage my ‘energy' to do what I need to along with what I want.

This gets thrown out the window a lot though with certain life problems, discontentment, various fluctuating emotions, etc.

This is why usually when you have a problem, nothing can go right, as you working towards progressing the fixing of this problem is also taken as a sort of energy consumer for your storage of work you can manage in a day before you need to recharge.

With certain mindsets, environmental conditions, and overall quality of life, this system is altered and different, be it for the better or worse.

I'll give a personal example, I loved learning, and school as a whole, so I could do it all the time, however, I kept work *at* school, while enjoying my time at home, even with the homework, as I worked hard enough for it to be done before I came home.

So with this, I hardly had any need for motivation, but in later years near high school, I couldn’t finish as quick due to the increased load of work, so I needed some time at home once the heavy-duty projects came by, so my energy was more spent, I needed more time, and more time for me, be it enjoying what I do, taking a moment to learn from what I was doing as I was so absorbed in working, that I didn’t remember to actually take in what I was studying.

Associating work with learning can create a setting where we don’t learn what we read, like a tool to achieve what is given to us.

Used, and discarded.

For me it was easier, but got harder as the work became more complicated and time-consuming.

I’m getting off track, the point is that one of the best ways to bring out the best your motivation can do, in any condition its set in, is to recognize what it pushing your energy to doing said thing, be it for yourself, or because you need to, if you have enough energy to spend on such, just, to know what conditions your set in to know if you have it in you to do what you set ahead of yourself.

There are things that are deeply embedded into my soul, things that I'll still be doing til the end of life. But on the opposite side, there are things that I could hardly get myself into, or maybe I'd do them a few times and fall off lol. There's no in between, and it's difficult af haha
