Looking back at the Data Centre World London, the most important trade fair for data centres worldwide
Four factors for light in a data centre which are important to be considered: sustainable, resistant, high-quality and secure environment. Massive amounts of energy have to be considered in order to operate data centres. Although lighting generally only accounts for 3 to 5 percent of a facility's total power consumption, a lighting concept can be an effective tool in efforts to save energy. It can also significantly improve working and environmental conditions and ensure safe operation in the long term. Expert topic Drees & Sommer, Klaus Dederichs: The ´smart and sustainable´ data centre with a future: “ Not only renewable energies offer a high potential in terms of sustainability for operations. The use of waste heat also makes a valuable contribution. A modular integration of different technologies ensures flexibility of the entire system. Smart solutions allow valuable insights from IT, energy, climate and building systems. Digitalization therefore ultimately provides processed information with the aim of constantly improving business processes and efficiency in data centres”.
