I have the Transcend SSD720, same problem! Its because of the Transcend SSD.

I have a Transcend 32GB SSD, and after a while it will unmount the drive, perhaps when running on batteries (could be low power is an issue).

No. It needs to have an express card reader.

I have the mid year 2009 model MacBook Pro with the SD card slot. I've read about overheating as a problem. What do any of you know about overheating or any other problems. I also have the 7200 rpm hard drive and I wonder what internal hard drive the computer in the video has?

Awesome! do those SSDs work with latest mac OS, El Capitan? I don't know a lot about computers, but I'm learning. I need more speed to run photo editting software. Thanks.

Why are the ssd for the express slot cheaper than a regular ssd you would install internally? They have come down in price, but the price for the 48 gb ssd card is cheaper than any ssd drive I have seen so far. Are they dropping in price that fast? Great video.
