In the Star Wars universe, the Jedi are seen as the protectors of peace and justice – while the evil Sith use the Dark Side to control and oppress. But when you look closer at their respective ideologies and codes, it doesn’t seem that the Dark Side worshippers are all that bad – and the Jedi aren’t all they’re cracked up to be, either. Yeah, the Sith are great guys! Way better than the Jedi. Sith don't murder children, or attempt to enslave the galaxy, or kill everybody's loved ones! They definitely don't destroy entire planets or use blackmail, and they definitely don't have any sadistic or evil powers/personalities! Those Jedi who try to protect people and attempted to stop a dictator by themselves, BECAUSE THE SENATE COULD DO NOTHING ABOUT SOMEONE WITH ABSOLUTE POWER, are totally the bad guys! I mean, they even help people just cause it's the right thing to do! What vile villainous vermin! The fiends! How DARE they ask the child or parent if they want/want their child to become jedi before bringing them to the Jedi Temple! That's kidnapping at its finest! Those upstanding Sith are true role models! Using their own forms of manipulation and temptation to use other beings like tools is a great message for children and people of all ages! Yoda meant the Dark Side keeps hold of your body, but your Light Side spirit can pass on. The Force does in fact split your being into two within one, ergo such conflicts. Balance is kept in Yin Yang, The Force, etc etc. But as your light spirit passes, the darkness keeps hold of the physical and rots it away, you know, how most Sith end up looking after hundreds of years, unless you learn to manipulate life, or clone as Palpatine did.

The Jedi do not abduct children. The Child always has a choice. If they choose to be a Jedi and aren't cut out, they get a large sum of money for the time they spent training. It's a great honor to be a Jedi and even to train among them, so the families are usually accepting of the child's decision. It IS the child's decision though.

isn't a major point of the Star Wars saga that the Jedi have become just as corrupt and dishonest as the sith? that's certainly a large plot point in the prequels. if there is anything to be learned it's that there is no hard line between good and evil, not everything is black and white. there are countless moral grey areas which is why the Jedi and sith are both evil in their own ways.
