You have to admit, Plankton's strategy is flawless. He's deflecting from his own failures and corruption to focus on someone else's until his accuser concedes and starts focusing where Plankton wants him to focus. He'd make an excellent politician.

Fun fact: This was Plankton’s last day on the set, so he decided to tell the director (who was a huge supporter of Newsom) exactly what he thought. As a professional actor, SpongeBob tried to stick to the script and stay in character as best as he could, but even he can’t ignore a good point when he hears one.
