She NEVER thought she could sing in public (UNTIL NOW)

I asked random people to sing in New York City (Herald Square), and that's where I met Quiora on her way home from school. At first, she took interest in singing. Then she started to get nervous. Other high school kids encouraged her to take the opportunity to sing. So I helped her find a song, and we started singing!

As a musician, I'm all about creating musical experiences that have people feeling happy and free, and that's why the "Sing With Me for Free" series exists. Since 2018, I have asked thousands of random people to sing with me on camera. A lot of people have said no, some have said no initially but changed their minds to yes, and some have said yes right away. I ask these people to sing with one purpose: to create a way for them to experience a sense of happiness and freedom they did not feel before. And much of the time, this actually works (and that makes ME happy).

Thank you so much for doing this. The first young lady (Qui’ora) is my daughter that was the first time that I have seen her sing outside of a school setting or at home. I love that fact that she is getting out of her comfort zone. I have been trying to get her to pursue singing for a number of years and she doesn’t think she has what it takes. She had no ideas this was on YouTube, until I shared this video with her. When she read the encouraging comments left about her she became emotional and started crying. She could not believe it. Thank you all. I hope this pushes her to make a few videos of her own and post them. I would love for everyone to enjoy her voice as I do at home. I love her appreciation for all genre’s of music.

I felt shivers listening to the first girl singing. If she ever read this. You dont need to be so much self demanding. Everybody stopped around to listen to you and some even danced. By the end of her singing ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ I was crying. She has so much talent and she needs to per-sue singing seriously. Period! She’s the first person I’ve heard sing here that I really think could eventually be a successful singer. She had incredible moments. Girl come on!

Qui'ora is probably one of the most gifted singers in the whole these series. Such raw emotion is coming through, she's got potential.
