I was station near Hornum with the U.S. Coast Guard in the 80s. Will admit the beaches in the Summer beyond beautiful, but 8 months out of the year was wet, snow, windy and cold. Great if your a tourist, but you have to be hard core to live there year round. Give me the Caribean or Riviera any time over Sylt. Don' t require anymore isolation in my life.
