The puck is wireless to the glasses. I hope though that when these ship we can instead use our phones with some kind of Meta AR app on it instead. That would also give the glasses easy access to contacts, calendars, email, calling, photos and more.

as an artist, all this AI stuff from meta makes me nervous. Its cool for certain interactions. But then it closes off an entire former market for us. You can just speak designs into existence? Fashion design and design in general used to be a job that human creatives held. And its not one of those "ah...its just pressing a button..." type jobs. We trained our entire lives to become proficient and skilled. And now theres a system thats analysed much of human histories work to be able to create a replica of it, used to replace us. Its hard to get excited for this. Especially because i love VR so much and want to create for it. I don't want to just be training my own digital replacement :(

I'm disappointed there was no mention of augments. We've been waiting since the release of the Quest 3 for them. They were supposed to release in late 2023/early 2024 but it got delayed. It seems like it's not going to happen yet for a while. Not this year anyway.

I'm really excited for the new Avatars though. Hopefully there's way more options and customizations for clothing. Right now it's very limited.
