(We all need to)Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Jesus is coming ⏳⌛️. If we confess our sins to God, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins

I recommend listening (audio book or YouTube) to 1950's stage actor Alexander Scourby reading the entire King James Bible, old and new testaments. I am an over the road driver and listen to The Word of our Lord as often as I can... Might be a life changer for someone. Scourby initially recorded his reading for the blind. God bless him... ))

I tried reading the KJV for added wisdom and guidance but the most important for me is where the Holy Spirit is guiding me and helping me grow in my walk with the Lord Jesus. So I use more often other modern English versions like NKJV, NLT, and NASB, and ESV because this is where God talks to me clearly.

For there are no perfect English translations except for the original manuscript of OT and NT. Even the KJV has its own flaws. My advice is to pray over it and ask God to help you find the right translation specific for you. God bless everyone!

Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless you, and keep you;
The Lord cause His face to shine on you, And be gracious to you;

The Lord lift up His face to you And give you peace.

The Old Testament was written in Hebrew and Aramaic. The New Testament was written in Koine Greek.

Whether the KJV is the closest to the original is debated but I don't believe that it is. We have found so much more manuscript evidence in the intervening 500 years since the Textus Receptus was produced and subsequently the KJV was translated. There is good reason to believe God has allowed us to get even closer to the text of the original writings in that time.

The King James version... in the past, I had some trouble understanding it, but the more you read it the more you start to comprehend it... especially, if you ask God to Grant you the wisdom to understand it! I have the King James version, the new revised Standard Version, and the living Bible... King James is the only one I read now. And it is true, that is the one that is the closest to what was originally written.

I've read and shared the NIV, then recently I've been reading and sharing NKJV because of missing scriptures in the NIV. I read KJV for myself but I share NKJV because of less tongue twisters. God bless everyone on here❤

I'm a KJV Bible reader. I've read some of the ESV and NKJV and NIV but mostly stick with KJV. Like you said. I feel it's closer to what's spoken and doesn't pull ANY punches with the Word.

The old testament was written in Hebrew and aramaic and the new testament in Greek. I totally agree with you we should stay as close as possible to the original text but not everyone may understand it

I read my german bible which is very close to the original text. It's like the KJV with the difference that the language is not as old

thank you for the advice. God bless you and your family. Praise and Glory be to God in the highest, Hallelujah. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour. Hallelujah. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins so that we would be saved. We are saved through Jesus Christ.

I like NLT. I am not a good reader by any means so using familiar words that I use it is easier for me to read more

As far as literal word for words translations go, the NASB is about as close as you can get. However, it's important to note that just because a translation is more word for word does not mean it's necessarily a better translation. Words can be translated over but sometimes ideas, phrases, expressions, etc are lost due to modern audiences being separated from the time and culture of the original authors, hence the value of a more dynamic translation. However as you pointed out, oftentimes these dynamic translations come with their own set problems which is why it's best to read a variety of translations simultaneously while being aware of the historical/cultural context of the text if learning the original languages is not possible.

All I got to say is We all are gonna have to stand before Christ at the judgment seat And a lot of us are going to be humbled Over a lot of things we think we know So it's best to be humble and keep your opinions to yourself 😂 A lot of us are wrong about many things But it shall be revealed to us

But I say again Be careful judging other Christians about translations Christ might just shock you and say I never knew you

Be humble people because being humbled does not feel good Especially by God himself

I am over 60 + years of ONLY STUDYING out of the 1611 King James with Strongs exhausted concordance. Acts 2:38 is your WAY OUT. No Trinity, it’s a LIE but Exodus 28:36 is not a LIE, “HOLINESS TO THE LORD” Hebrew 12:14
Without HOLINESS, no man shall see God . Deuteronomy 6:4 ONE LORD.

I like New Living Translation, New International Version, UK New International Version, and The Message. I believe that for a person who has just started reading the Bible, these versions are a lot easier to understand. That person needs that bread fed to them immediately. I think that after they get a clearer understanding, then they should go to the King James Version. God will make His word so simple that even a fool will understand it.

Bible was written a tiny bit of Aramaic but mainly Hebrew and Greek. The KJV was written in a time where collection the of manuscripts was much, much smaller then today. Besides the fact that it is written in a language style that hasnt been spoken in 400 years. There is absolutely no reason to only stick to KJV and NKJV. Those who for whatever reason feel the urge to fight for it have intentions other then seeking truth.

I use mainly use the ESV, but sometimes use other versions including KJV when I do not understand a certain verse.
