I have dedicated this song to my mother who died in 2010. She was death sick in 2009 when this song came out, and it perfectly describes her whole life in three minutes. Depeche Mode have always written hymns of life that have accompanied me since 1981 when I was 14 year old. The bible of intelligent and sensual music.

One of the few post-Wilder tracks that really stands up as good as anything else they've done...a bit clinical sounding with the modern day SMT synths though, if they stuck some gritty EMAX on this it would have been perfect

The lyrics of this song really get to me, seem very appropriate at times nowadays, this guys are amazing artists and musicians, I recently paid tribute to them by doing a live looping cover of this track, with weird synths and a bit more "heavy rock" sound, I'll leave the link in the comments below in case anyone wants to check it out!
