Wait a second...so THAT is why "OTAN" is always written with "NATO"?!?! Because that is "NATO" in French?! LOL! I always thought it was just "NATO" written backwards and figured there was some goofy, gimmicky reason for writing it both forwards and backwards. I guess you really do learn something new every day!

Interesting fact: The E3 Sentry is a Boeing 707. No Airforce in the world uses the 707 because it's an incredibly man-hour greedy maintenance P.O.S. (The search for a replacement has been underway for quite some time. (It's a flying Yugo)

The UK finished using the E-3 Sentry planes after 30 years at the beginning of this year and sold the last 2 and spares to Chile.
To be replaced by the E-7 Wedgetail coming online in 2023.
