I love these episodes! I love nature! When my girls were toddlers, I would get so upset when I caught them stomping deliberately on an insect, that they will now leave them alone (for my sake) and come and get me to evict them from the house - the insects, not the kids (ha!). I would say to them, "They have just as much right to live as you do. Do they sneak up on you and start clobbering you like a bully?", to which they would reply, "no", and then I'd tell them to "stop bullying the insects because the insects look after the planet and make the honey you like on your porridge". I made hubby laugh one time - the girls were in primary school, came home talking about some beetles they saw in the school grounds with sounds of disgust. I told them with a surprisingly straight face that the Beatles had a song called "Live and let die", but that didn't mean they wanted to be killed off. OK, I'll stop now. It's past my bedtime, goodnight from Australia.

I loved the segment on Flathead Lake. I live nearby, so it's always awesome to learn more about the state I live in! I'm glad you, Eons, and SciShow are all Montana-based. :3 Once I scooped up some water in Woodland Pond, it's a big pond in Kalispell. I found so many shrimp-looking, krill-looking, little dudes, some were really wonderful colors like blues and greens, though most were transparent. I wonder if any of them are introduced, even though it's just a tiny pond? I wouldn't doubt it! Perhaps someone put them in the pond so the ducks have more to munch on. ^^

Idk, there are a TON of pets that are carnivorous and started out as vicious hunters, but make great/popular pets which are considered cute. Not just dogs and cats, but also danger noodles. 🐍

Haven't watched completely yet, but there are a couple of inaccuracies:

1) There is debate whether sponges or ctenophores are more basal-branching, although the latest phylogenomic evidence suggests ctenophores are the earliest diverging sister group to the ancestor of all animals.

2) ctenophores are not radially symmetric but more specifically, are biradially symmetric (i.e., there are only two planes of symmetry--the pharyngeal and tentacular planes)

First off this video is great, and has a ton of information, but I want to ask, what genealogical relation do we have with sponges/invertebrates?
God created Humans, animals, and all life. We are descended from Adam and Eve and we definitely are not related to any animal whatsoever. How is a slug-like creature even remotely related to us?
By all means I am not trying to bash anyone, but I want to clarify something that raised a big red flag while I was watching this video.
