Newly-Elected Berkeley County School Board Members Fire Superintendent

Berkeley County School District in South Carolina swore in the newly-elected board members, and two hours later the members abruptly fired the superintendent terminated the district’s lawyer and banned critical race theory. WCBD's Raymond Owens reports.

I’m a music teacher and I found it really strange that I received a training for music teachers in the district but the newly hired history teachers didn’t receive any support when they were hired. More and more schools are simply eschewing the teaching of history altogether. This will have powerful implications in the future. I’m certain of it. Not good.

It’s sad that my small children will have to learn about race through the media and their schools instead of me as their parent. Right now they see no difference between us as white people and others of different colors. This is the way we have raised them. Now they will go to school and have them ruin good upbringing
