Awesome. This is stuff I have been exposed to since singing in choirs as a child, but having it broken down and explained, now that I have to direct a choir, is going to help me tremendously.

Brilliant! Knowing the basics of conducting is such a resourse to me and ensembles I participate in, thank you so much for taking the time to do this!

The moment at 02:30 you expect to hear a nice D major and you hear Bb major instead just made my night 🎶

Thank you for these helpful videos. What if the choir comes in on the last half beat of a measure? In other words, they have an eight note pickup to the downbeat. Do you do your gesture of preparation on beat 3 or 4? I think it goes on 4.

Do we give the gesture of preparation at the start of 'each verse' or just the 'very first? Also, I'm having trouble transitioning from the last measure to the gesture of prepation of the next verse.Anyone?

первый палец очень выбивается и торчит отдельно от всех остальных. и почему запястье так зажато??? если дирижер показывает вокальную линию - рука должна петь!!!
