Why does a dentist need alimony?
I mean the whole reason for alimony was to help underprivileged, non-earning women have a decent support from huaband to have a decent life.
Here the women clearly has a life skill, why would the court want to undermine her medical degree and make her dependent on her husband's alimony?

First of all if he's on 79 companies' board why only 5cr was asked for. Finally she got only 2 cr, rest 3cr each were for the daughters. Not enough as they must not be having a middle class life. Bad settlement

Alimony is dowry too. Asking men about how much he is worth also is a dowry.

USA has something called prenup meaning property settlement in case of divorce is decided before marriage, unfortunately India does not do that

This is happening to women as well. Real example of my family, My cousin sister from Canada marry to Indian Punjabi guy in India. Unfortunately, husbands case got rejected and family disputes started. Then in India, the husband applied for alimony of 80 lac rupees to compensate before giving divorce to my cousin sister who was Canadian citizen as he knew my cousin family was very rich and she too was earning 95$ per hr. From 2-3 yrs case is pending in Indian court. Even for rich women it is difficult to divorce husbands who want large alimony 😅

Marriage is the most important financial decision men have to make. A wrong decision can ruin financial planning, savings, investments, business, real estate assets for a man.
