Queen Myeongseong or Qeen Min was a historical figure who served as the last empress of the Joseon Dynasty in Korea in the late 19th century. She was born on October 19, 1851, and passed away on October 8, 1895. Ratu Myeongseong is known for her active role in the modernization efforts of Korea and her fight for her nation's independence from foreign influences.

During her husband's reign, King Gojong, Ratu Myeongseong was involved in political policies and became a strong advocate for change in Korea. She promoted the modernization of the government, infrastructure development, education, and industry. Ratu Myeongseong also played a role in preserving Korean cultural identity and protecting national interests amidst pressures from foreign powers such as Japan and China.

However, Ratu Myeongseong's life ended tragically when she became the target of assassination in 1895 by Japanese agents who opposed her influence and her efforts to resist colonization.
