Many years ago, when I was in my 20’s, I worked in a high end restaurant in the Midwest. I worked my way up to lead on the floor, which meant I took care of any VIP table. We had celebrities, actors, artists, and politicians dine with us regularly. Out of everyone I met, I can honestly say I never had a bad run in with anyone. For the most part, everyone was friendly and charming. At that time I had a few rules that I stuck to whenever waiting on anyone famous. I never called them by their name, nor gave recognition. I always approached them as sir, ma’am, or miss. I always kept fans away from their table and never once asked for an autograph. I’m sure it resulted in preference for me to take care of them when they visited other times since musicians would usually have repeat tours the following year. Even though they didn’t recognize me, more than once I was asked for by name when they arrived and spoke to the host. I was always flattered. Once I had the pleasure of serving Andy Warhol when he was in town for a book signing. His assistant ordered for him, he never spoke to me while he was seated. After their check was paid, Warhol found me in the restaurant to shake my hand and thank me for a wonderful lunch. I know there are celebrities that can be rude, but I’ve never seen it.

I have a friend who worked on these of the Patriot when it was filming in Charleston. She said Mel Gibson was a true ass to everyone. But she said Jason Issac, why played the bad guy, could not have been kinder. Something I heard in several other places in SC.

It’s interesting that Demi Lovato claimed that Mariah Carry was rude to her. A number of non famous people have claimed Demi Lovato was really rude to them. I believe Demi was deep in her addiction, when she behaved badly. Mariah Carry had a drug addict sister, while growing up. Maybe Mariah is sensitive to tweeker/addict energy. My mom was an alcoholic for 25 years. I hated speaking to her on the phone when she was f’d up. I’ve had friends want to talk to me while drunk. Slurry conversations really trigger me. I don’t want to talk to someone when they’re high or drunk.

I'm not a celeb worshipper, so I can't really understand the fascination many people have over celebrities. They are good at what they do, they make a good living, but they are also humans like all of us with good and bad sides.
