I created a java spring app with spring intiailizer, worked on it for a week or so. I wanted to use kotlin for a jpa repository to use string interpolation, so I added kotlin files, configured project for kotlin, it only added the plugin entry in build.gradle. The app built and worked fine.

Now I return to my app a week later, I think I got confused and ran a gradlew command instead of a gradle command to build and now i'm getting an error in compileKotlin a NoClassDefFoundError. Have spent two hours now trying all the normal things to get my project back to working order without success.

Nice! Maybe would’ve been better to show which error you’d get if you didn’t include the spring compiler plug-in.
