I've always been fascinated with Scandinavian countries and now that I've just come back to my home country (Italy) I missed those amazing places so much. People were well mannered indeed and everything seemed so well cared after!

I liked Norway the best because of its diverse landscape and I decided to learn the language to come back again and be able to converse freely with natives.

This has me wondering about the role of accents. I just started learning Norwegian a few days ago, and I recognize some of these from the app I'm using. But some of them are pronounced differently here. I wonder how much of the pronunciation is softened/simplified when spoken in real life, compared to the supposed pronunciation given by my app, and how much may just be a difference in accent between speakers.

As a Norwegian, I really wanna shed light on something; learning variations of words is not at all important! Although, if there’s a slang version of it (like “halla”, or “hva skjer’a?”) and you plan on learning it, I’d recommend learning at least one of the normal words.
