Oh yeah let's go electric because having to do all the mining for the materials to build batteries for all these electric cars/trucks will be great for the ecosystem. Not to mention all the money that will be wasted to build the infrastructure to support electric cars that will only last 5 years probably because the batteries will crap out. Great idea!

Gm should invest synthetic fuels also like Porsche is doing so we can have drivetrain options

Well by 2035 I will no longer be buying from GM.

I mean they’re not wrong, companies that don’t exist don’t pollute the environment so yeah, if the plan is to take 14 years to go “fully green” they will achieve it in a way.

This can't be done without a massive increase in building many more nuclear
power plants. Solar and wind certainly can never meet that sort of
demand, and in an era of climate change, no other option is viable
without a strong nuclear footprint.

So many batteries. Hard to recycle, environmentally unfriendly, batteries...I am not saying we shouldnt move to electric, but I think we will trade one environmental problem for another.

Tesla is bringing back the Roadster. It's time that GM put their tail between their legs and bring back the EV1. Heck just use the Corvette C8 and put an EV motor in it, call it the EV1.

What are the Logistics of changing to EV will be bringing the independent mechanic up to speed
When the warranty is over
Tesla doesn't even allow independent mechanics to work on their cars sometimes they have to drive 500 miles I'm sorry toaded to get it repaired.

This will be 2027, more like. Earth cooking hotter every year, literally! Ev's are here NOW - so if GM doesn't want massive drops in sales of it's dodo bird ICE vehicles, it'd better tool-up MUCH faster than by 2035!! (or go bankrupt

And how many are going to keep buying new vehicles knowing the will be obsolete

DEEP GEOTHERMAL POWER . ALL POWERPLANTS HAVE TO BE FROM EARTH - HEATED WATER, NOT COAL OR HEAVY OIL - BECAUSE DG PLANTS ARE (Ev's are still 'dirty', if the charging-source is dirty

Read GM’s statement carefully. They are not going all electric. I hate how news outlets do not know how to report the facts if you read GM statement carefully they stated “ an aspiration to eliminate tailpipe emissions from light duty vehicles by 2035”

Yeah right! Is pot legal in Michigan? If it is, this announcement by GM makes sense then! 😂

This means the end of cars and driving as a way of life. Can you imagine car enthusiasts getting together with their EV's? What comes after "gear heads"? The "volt heads". Same trend goes with motorcycles, fu**ing electric Harleys. Seriously, who wants to drive them. That V2 engine is the whole point there. "I can see the future, it's the 74 years old virgin..."
