The 69 almost 70 yeats I have been around has taught me to expect the unexpected. Vietnam happened, 9-11 happened, the Gulf War Happened, The War on Terrorism happened, Afghanistan Happened, Recessions happened, Covid Happened and so on. None of these were predicted. They happened. When the unexpected happens you need to be prepared. Being prepared does not mean you have to go off the deep end, but if you have knowledge, supplies and a means to shelter yourself and loved ones then you have a head start over surviving the worse that can happen. Being able to keep a supply of food without having to place it on a shelf or in a refrigeration/freezer unit is amazing. We will all face the unexpected at some point in our lives, making it easier to do so is not a crazy thing! Be prepared, learn as much as possible even if you never have to rely on it to survive it will be incorporated into your everyday life so nothing will ever seem totally impossible.

This has been going on for a long long time. The towers would break me financially. I grow in raised beds. Yeh it is a lot off work, but way cheaper than growing in those towers you buy for $600 a tower. Parts of things you are mentioning are true though and I believe in

Like the new name for the channel, and the content. Gardening, and preparing is a big payoff for self. Teaching others is good for the heart, and good for them. " Give a man a fish...teach a man to fish...they eat a lifetime." Change will always happen, being prepared, and using our heads will get us through. 🙂

Great information to get prepared. In our cold climate, I could grow in my basement with grow lights. Thanks for sharing & I think your channel name is perfect! Blessings to all 🤗🇨🇦🌲

Hey Steff! You are looking much less strained . Of course, when you are with your garden, you are so happy and it shows!

Great content. We have always grown a garden, and purchase our meats from a reputable farmer friend. Like you, I cannot imagine not being prepped for whatever. I go to the grocery store every 6-8 wks and buy the things I cannot grow. ie: flour, coffee, cane sugar, baking soda, etc.

WI and surrounding areas can find pasture raised meat at Alden Hills. I have been buying from them for almost 2 years and am so happy with their quality and service.

Love the new name! I do have some property, but as a 70 year old it’s difficult for me to go up and down the hills. My property is hilly but your way would work for me. I can’t wait to see all you do.

Grateful to find friends that appreciate full disclosure as a desirable Principle applied to the FOOD we are eating. I saw the lettuce vxx being discussed at Congress 3 years ago. ☹️💔 Keep going we will overcome this good mess, and become a community again.

You inspired me to grow mushrooms and I now have about 60-65 plugs on multiple logs in my backyard that I'm just waiting to grow 😊

I hate mushrooms lol, in all forms and all ways prepared. This is the second video of you doing mushrooms lol. But, the chatter is good. I’m definitely interested in your food storage pantry though. I’m 61 and I swear been prepping all my life. Constantly rotating out my stock. I’m always ready…until I see other people’s stockpile😅 then I add more stuff.

Food self sufficiency/emergency preparedness, particularly plant based, can be done very economically. I hope you’ll talk more about that this year. You have inspired me to start mushrooms! Pretty excited to try! Love your channel Stef!❤

What you say and share...is valuable and common sense. I look forward to your future videos and learning how to grow my food alternatively. Thank you for your focus on teaching important skills, as well as your proven examples of community outreach and caring for your neighbors in need. 🤗

You are right about all of this. You’re doing the right thing. You remind me of the scripture about the ant ! Proverbs 6 6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

That’s you! Teaching the sluggers how to wake up and prepare!!!

I like your ideas. I feel like I have to focus more on a traditional garden due to living in zone 3. So much of the year I would have to grow inside if I were to grow in towers or hydroponics whereas I can get a lot of food that I can store/preserve if I grow it in my outdoor garden. I think if I were still in CA I would opt more for the other. I love learning what you are up to though!
