Brooklyn's Swan Terror

NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo has sided with the birds.

Cuomo has agreed to protect the mute swan population, signing legislation that puts a moratorium on the NY State Department of Conservation's plans to declare mute swans an invasive species. The DEC had planned to eradicate mute swans from the state by 2025.

Environmentalists aren't pleased by the decision, telling Diana the mute swans can negatively impact the number of native species in the area and contribute to an environmental collapse.
