In my previous video I talked about the different bicycles I ride on my bike commutes. Each bike has a different handlebar style.

Diamondback Haanjo Comp - road handlebars with drops and brake hoods

Motobecane Cafe - flat handlebars with bar extensions and top mounted brake levers

Wabi Lightning SE - bullhorn handlebars with bar end brake levers

What is your favorite handlebar style?

My Origin8 bullhorn handlebars featured in this video

I'm just starting to ride, using a state cycles "fixie" right now and I do enjoy riding it. Love all the videos uploaded that I've watched, but it blows me away that you can talk the entire time while riding lol! I'd pass out. Im hoping that as long as I keep riding regularly my cardio will be better so I don't feel so out of breathe as easily. On mostly flat I can't do 2 miles.

I really appreciate your videos. I got back into cycling about a year ago and have referenced your library multiple times

I was just looking at Wabi Specials debating whether to stick with bullhorns or switch to drops. It was funny to stumble on a video of you riding in my neighborhood!

I do definitely need the drop part. All of my bikes have Road bike handle bars. (Road bike, Hardtail and downhill mountain bike) I felt weird as i was trying to change back and a bit unsafe so i swapped my bars.

I've just purchased my first bike and I'm really getting into cycling. This video is so unnecessarily long. That being said, I really like the first person view of cycling and feel that this video is great to watch for that reason alone. The tips given here and there seem more like a bonus. Good stuff, I'll definitely be watching more.

The aero position you were in has actually been found to be more aero than drops. Most aero position on drops is forearms horizontal on the hoods.

I like drop bars or anything that will position my hands in the same position as if I'm walking (naturally) and swaying my arms forward. So Bullhorns would work, or even flat bars with bar ends on them....Just flat bars is a no no.

I don't know in the USA but in Mexico and the UK you don't need to stop in every single stop sign unless there's someone who wants to cross the road.

Firstly, thank you for inspiring me to keep commuting! Secondly, is there any chance of you doing a video on fitting bar-end brake levers any time soon? I reallly wanna put some on my single speed. Thanks!

I have flat bars on all of my bikes, but I might try Humpert AHS Basic Sport Handlebars sometime.

Have you made a video on bike-handling skills?
Can you track-stand, hop, drop, etc?
I think they are important to learn and practice, but I'd appreciate your opinion.

@Willy Goat I have not made a video specifically on handling skills, so I'll add that one to my list. Thank you, Willy Goat.

Love your videos. Have any recommendations on saddles?

Hey Bike Blogger! Have you ever noticed the handlebars on a unicycle? Just imagine all the weight you could shed from your bicycles by removing the handlebars. All it would require is a keener sense of balance, and you could pedal a lot faster.
